STIKLESTAD NATIONAL CULTURAL CENTER / JULY 2015: PER FRONTH / OLSOK KUNSTNER / OLSOK ARTIST
In 2015 Per Fronth was given the honour of being selected Olsok Kunstner at Stiklestad National Cultural Centre. Stiklestad is of great historic importance in Norway; it is the battlefield where King Olaf Haraldsson II. died on July 29th 1030.
He was later sanctified as St. Olav by the Pope and the Catholic church. Norwegian Crown Prince Haakon Magnus was chosen to be Olsok Profile same year as Fronth was Olsok Artist.
King Olaf or St. Olav is widely known to have been the King who christened Norway. The Norwegian flag carry a cross as its main symbol. Every Year Norwegians celebrate Olsok on July 29th.
Pictured is Per Fronth 15 ton concrete Flag sculpture " ED " installed on the battlefield - in front of the church built on the rock where King Olaf is said to have taken his terminal breath.

Per Fronth contemporary concrete sculpture installed in the fields by the river Glomma in Norway and activated in and by Nature. This is the third installation of the sculpture after Tjuvholmen Financial Centre 2014 and Stiklestad National Cultural Centre in 2015 - when Per Fronth was honored by being Olsok Kunstner.
